Export a Recorded Track as GPX from iPhone

How to export a MarinePath track recorded on iPhone or Apple Watch as a GPX file from the iPhone Sessions tab.

Find your recorded track

Recordings made on iPhone are already saved in Sessions. For Watch recordings, sync the track to your paired iPhone first.

Open MarinePath on your watch and paired iPhone with the devices nearby and connectivity enabled. If a track has not arrived on iPhone, check pending-track status on the watch and use its retry action. Do not delete the watch app while unsynced tracks remain.

Export from Sessions

Open the saved track in the iPhone Sessions tab. Use the track’s menu to export GPX, then choose where to save the file or whom to share it with. GPX lets you keep or share the recorded track; do not assume that every statistic shown in the app is included in every receiving app.

Protect your location information

GPX files can reveal where you were. Share only with people or services you trust. Saving or sending a GPX file creates a separate copy; deleting the track in MarinePath does not remove exported files.

Before deleting or reinstalling

Export important tracks before deleting MarinePath. Reinstalling does not automatically restore sessions that were already synced to iPhone. Watch sync is not a backup, and MarinePath does not restore GPS tracks from Apple Health or a cloud account.
